/ˈjuːfәni/, noun
the effect of a harmonious and meaningful cooperation of varying sounds. This is often furthered by the combined effect of the meaning beyond just the sounds themselves.
ABOUT THE CONSULTANT
Naomi Gracechild (she/they) is a woman of Afro-Caribbean and European descent born and currently residing on unceded occupied territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations (colonially referred to as Vancouver, BC, Canada). She has lived and worked in various communities in BC, Alberta and Ontario and her professional background includes arts nonprofit, education, telecommunications, health care, human resources and hospitality.
Beyond tokenistic ideals of "diversity and inclusion", Naomi is a champion of healing and justice to create new paradigms of healthy, equitable and intersectional organizational cultures. As the founder of Euphony Works, she offers her inter-sectoral experience in both urban and rural communities to help clients gain a deeper understanding of socio-political dynamics in order to effectively address issues of injustice and collectively heal from wounds of systemic/structural racism and colonialism.
An interdisciplinary artist with an educational background in music, Naomi's visionary visual art practice is centered around narratives of women of the African diaspora. With a focus on visual storytelling through portraiture, she honors the power of art to heal communities, elevate consciousness, affect social change and document history.

Naomi was extremely helpful in examining our current processes, discussing how they were lacking, and key ways to make improvements. This was our first time hiring an inclusion consultant and the the benefits from our meetings exceeded any expectations. We will definitely maintain an ongoing working relationship with EUPHONY

We worked with Naomi to deepen our cultural competency and take steps towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment. Through respectful dialogue with our entire team, Naomi sparked important conversation, held space for learning and unlearning, and helped examine our entrenched behaviour at both an individual and an organizational level. She guided us towards meaningful action and helped us understand the importance of “heart work,” as she so masterfully puts it.

Naomi elevated the conversation beyond the basics to facilitate a higher-level understanding of how systems of oppression operate, and created space for participants to meaningfully confront those realities, including the ways we ourselves perpetuate them. But also illuminated immediately applicable strategies to leverage ourselves and our organizations in service of justice and equity.
