Once the audit is complete, we provide a comprehensive report with recommendations and next steps to address your organization's challenges.

EUPHONY offers informative and engaging 4-hour and full-day workshops.

Full-day workshops have more space for discussion, breakout sessions and deeper exploration of concepts.

Participants will receive pre- and post-session resources to support their learning.

Workshops can be delivered in-person (preferred) or virtually.

DISRUPT DIVERSITY; equity and inclusion for progressive business leaders

In this introductory-level workshop, participants will explore:

  • shared definitions of terms like culture, privilege, oppression, racism, justice/equity/diversity/inclusion

  • tenets of Critical Race Theory, and examine systems of power/privilege

  • how certain identities are a result of interdependent systems of oppression

  • patterns of racial discrimination within organizations

  • how to identify and disrupt microaggressions

  • benefits of J.E.D.I. for the growth and development of your organization

  • strategies to create organizational cultures of respect and inclusion

FOUNDATIONS OF ANTIRACISM

In this 102-level workshop rooted in historical context of racism and colonization, participants will explore:

  • shared terminology to discuss ideas of race, identity, culture and intersectionality

  • the political and pseudoscientific roots of racism

  • the correlation between racism as a social construct and Western European colonization of Africa, the Caribbean and Turtle Island (aka North America)

  • the psychology of dehumanization and how to approach unconscious bias

  • Critical Race Theory as a framework within which to deconstruct racism

  • personal relationships to systems of privilege

EQUITY & INCLUSION FOR NONPROFITS

In this workshop for non-profit leaders, participants will explore:

  • shared definitions of terms like culture, privilege, oppression, racism, justice/equity/diversity/inclusion

  • tenets of Critical Race Theory, and examine systems of power/privilege through

  • how certain identities are a result of interdependent systems of oppression

  • daylighting problematic approaches to non-profit governance

  • creating inclusive Boards of Directors

  • incorporating J.E.D.I. into strategic planning

DROP THE D-WORD; Looking Beyond Diversity to Deconstruct Systems of Oppression

In this intermediate-level workshop, participants will look beyond the optics of diversity to examine:

  • diversity & inclusion vs equity & justice

  • safe spaces vs brave spaces

  • intent vs impact

  • disrupting patterns of unconscious bias

  • inclusive design

  • building and nurturing relationships with people of underrepresented identities

 
THE POWER OF STORY; Film, television and narratives of Blackness on Turtle Island

In this intermediate-level media literacy workshop, participants will explore:

  • the role of storytelling in shaping identity

  • deconstructing ideas of "Canadian" identity

  • various facets of Black identity in the Canadian context

  • brief history of European colonization and how it relates to race

  • tropes of Blackness in film and television and reframing narratives

  • why representation matters at various levels of leadership
